CHOICE Welcome Orchard End to the Group

In January this year, CHOICE acquired Orchard End Group and we are pleased to announce that it has now merged Orchard End Ltd. into the group. Based in Gloucestershire the residential care provider will now widen the scope of services and offer more choice for service users.

Orchard End was established in 1993 to provide high quality residential care for Adults with Learning Disabilities in the Gloucester area.

Starting with the original Orchard End home - located in the rural village of Minsterworth, near Gloucester - the company saw demand for its services grow and, over the years carefully selected and added more homes, whilst still retaining the essence of what made Orchard End so good in the first place.

The group now consists of four residential care homes and one supported living home, looking after forty four service users with a variety of learning disabilities and complex needs. Three of the residential homes and the supported living home are located in the beautiful, peaceful Gloucestershire countryside, whilst the other residential home is set just a mile from the bustling Gloucester city centre. A new home for six adults will be opening nearby in Spring 2005 and opportunities for continued development are being explored.

The link with CHOICE is beneficial to both companies, as well as to the service users. Orchard End provide CHOICE with a chance to extend their services west from their existing base of Berkshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire into Gloucestershire. Meanwhile the partnership with CHOICE gives Orchard End the administrative and operational resources of a larger company and the chance to expand and develop their service provision in the west country.
