Who are CHOICE?

CHOICE (Community Homes Of Intensive Care & Education) was established in 1992 to meet the needs of individuals who require a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment in which to live, but still have opportunities to learn and self-develop. We provide total care for people with a wide range of learning disabilities and complex needs including: epilepsy, sensory impairments, Autism and Asperger Syndrome.

We run 18 homes, ranging in size from three to ten beds, in a variety of community settings, which are skilfully adapted and furnished to a high standard. These homes provide service users with a relaxed and comfortable environment where they are encouraged to become active and valued participants within both their home setting and local community.

As well as providing a supportive environment for service users, we also pride ourselves on supporting our staff through career progression, training opportunities and effective management. We are committed to providing our staff with the highest levels of training available, ensuring that our staff teams are highly experienced.

Choice Ltd purchased Orchard End in Gloucester in February 2004 and The Truecare Group in June 2004. Collectively they are part of The Choice Care Group.

What do CHOICE offer?

With a team of committed staff, on and off site day service facilities and positive management support, we offer each service user a valued and safe place in the community to continue their ongoing experiences and education.

Some of the services we offer:

Mid to long term residential accommodation in a safe, supportive and happy environment.
Therapeutic services from professional staff, including Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Speech & Language Therapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy and Horticultural Therapy.
Structured day and leisure activities, including usage of community and college facilities.
Assessment of educational life skills and delivery of individual programmes for continuing education.
